Laynce Nix has been sidelined with a left calf strain, and has not played since May 10.
“He’s feeling a lot more optimistic,” Amaro said. “He did have that setback but he’s doing pretty good. He’ll be back after the break. How far after, I’m not sure.”
Nix was feeling better but felt a “Pop” a few weeks ago while training in Clearwater, and had to slow things down for a while.
Nobody is really sure who will get dropped from the roster when Nix returns. My guess would be that the Phillies either release Mike Fontenot, or try to send him to AAA LHV, since the Phillies need to hang onto to as many bullpen pitchers as they can until Roy Halladay returns.
Nix was brutal the first few weeks of April, but started to get things going right before coming up lame in early May.

When Nix and Howard return, I’m guessing Luna and Pridie will get sent down, not sure of the order. Fontenot will have to stick around to give Utley his rest days
Gosh, there have been so many stinking moves I forgot about Pridie.
I think Utley plays almost everyday after the ASG. You’re right thought. Totally forgot.
Nix Lance.
