Cliff Lee has really found his groove.
On the heels of Lee’s CG 2- hit shutout, the Phillies have improved to a Major League best 44-26.
In this most recent home stand Cliff went 3-0 with a .038 ERA, only surrendering one run in three starts.
Cliff had scuffled during the first two months of the season where he seemed to have difficulty finding his release point, but he’s not having that problem anymore.
“Ive had better stretches I think, to be honest with you,” Lee said. “It’s good. I don’t really try to compare this to that or whatever. This game is what is is, now it’s over. Now I move on to the next one, and I’m going to continue to look at it that way. It feels good to contribute and help the team win.”
Cliff was in total control of Thursday’s game from start to finish, and had a pretty big hit in the 4th inning. Cliff drove in the Phillies first run with an RBI double to right center field.
Plenty of reasons to smile.
As a team the Phillies really appear to be coming together in a month that usually finds them struggling.

Today was vintage Lee and I love it. Love that he’s taking his batting seriously as well. Wheels was salivating over what a ridiculous athlete that he is. Ridiculous equals awesome in Wheels vocab.
I love the picture that you posted. It makes me laugh every time that I look at it. I have a great amount of respect and admiration for him as I’ve always did.
Thanks for chiming in on the show tonight Barb. Mucho appreciate that!
Mike
I enjoy it.:)
Don’t want to take away from 3 incredible starts but those were against teams that have been struggling this season. Hopefully he can keep working his magic when we play the Cardinals or the Red Sox in the next 2 weeks.
Hey Rob,
I get ya. The Phils should beat those teams, but despite losing records this teams are still big league teams. Our offense did their thing… For the most part.
Three games and one earned run is pretty amazing.
Thanks for reading by they way! I enjoy getting feedback.
